- Skill Assessment, Report, and Results discussion (student’s skills, abilities, interests discussed, recommendations provided)
- Online College Card Sort for determining college criteria
- Major and Career Exploration
- Coaching the student how to research various colleges
- Guidance on in-person college visits, virtual tours, college fairs, and college events
- Initial List of 20-25 Colleges leading to a balanced college list for applications
- Review and guide on a balanced list of schools
- Application Planning and timeline of work for rolling, early, and regular application schools
- Breaking down tasks for college applications and financial aid
- Reviewing 10 college applications
-UCs (Any number of UCs applied to are treated as 1 Application), CSUs (Any number of CSUs applied to are treated as 1 Application), and eight (8) other college Applications besides UCs and CSUs.
OCA’s review of student essays will include the Common Application Essay (Personal Statement) supplemental essays, short Q & A for the respective colleges for the 10 applications
- Advising and helping the student research information for specific prompts (Why Us Essays? Why this major?)
- Guiding the student in identifying recommenders and helping them request recommendations to best position them for various colleges
- Interview preparation with college reps, alumni (optional)
- Ongoing check-in after the final applications are submitted
- Reviewing college portals and to-do tasks with the student
- Helping the family in reviewing financial aid award letters
- Assisting the family with college choices once admissions decisions are in
