Georgia’s flagship institution of higher education is a leading land-grant university. This public institution is well-known for cutting-edge research, seminars, study abroad programs, and fierce football just to name a few.UGA has 19 schools and is named the best value college by The Princeton Review (2024)

 

Admissions Process: UGA is not test-optional. The University takes into consideration, academic record, rigor of courses, test scores, essays, recommendation, volunteering and any work experience. The HOPE Scholarship program covers 100%  tuition for all 4 years for top in-state students who keep up a certain GPA in high school and college. UGA also offers merit- aid and athletic scholarships

 

Majors: Being a large, flagship institution, UGA has no dearth of majors. The Jere W. Morehead Honors College is highly regarded with small classes, internship opportunities and access to professors. Popular Majors at UGA include Engineering, CS, Business, Economics, Journalism, Agricultural Sciences Psychology, Chemistry, Bio, Finance, Public Relations and International Affairs to name a few. Poultry Science  and Landscape Management programs are excellent. The Double Dawgs program helps students to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in 5 years or less

 

Students– Students are friendly, warm with a strong school spirit , With 60% women and 40% men, a large number of students are White or Caucasian with 13% Asian and 8% Hispanic/Latino. Instate students are 84% and out of state are 16%. There is a large Greek life on campus. Students enjoy plenty of opportunities on campus from freshman seminars, research, study abroad, mentoring  and watching football games with fellow students.
